About Us
Bunkers Hill Swimming is owned and run by Carol Kibblewhite. It’s a real family affair - her sister Julie Speller helps to manage the business and ALL seven of the children in both their families are qualified swimming instructors.
The pool first opened in September 1990. Carol had just finished as a full time PE teacher to start her family and walked past the unused private pool complex daily. When new house owners bought the property ,Carol offered to get the pool running for them and in return be allowed to teach a couple of friends’ children in there.
Bunkers Hill Swimming grew rapidly and by 1992 they had 100 families and 6 instructors! In 2006 the property owner moved to Australia and Carol and her husband Clive were able to buy the premises and Carol’s dream of owning the swim school came true! Now, it’s a thriving teaching pool run by a family who are truly passionate about what they do.
Bunkers Hill Swimming is a vibrant, friendly place where the emphasis is always on fun. There is a real community focus, working regularly with iLeap, the nearby Brownies and Cubs and local Primary Schools. Charity events are held quite regularly, with the help of many of the mums who bring their children here.
